How to Save It as a PDF

There is no separate download button because there does not need to be one. Press the print button, and in the dialog that opens choose Save as PDF instead of a printer. You get the same file, without handing over an email address for it.

One thing worth checking: set the orientation to landscape. An 18-hole card is 21 columns across and portrait paper will squeeze it until the boxes are too small to write in.

Marking the Card

These four marks are close to universal, and they let anyone read a card without adding a single number up.

Birdie

One under par. Circle it.

Eagle

Two under. Two circles.

Bogey

One over par. Square it.

Double bogey

Two over. Two squares.

Filling In the Card Properly

In stroke play you mark a playing partner's card, not your own, and they mark yours. At the end you both check the hole scores, sign, and hand it in. Getting a hole score wrong on a card you signed is the classic way to be disqualified from a competition.

Totals are the marker's job to add but the committee's job to verify, so an arithmetic slip in the OUT box is not fatal. A wrong number in a single hole box is.

How do I save this scorecard as a PDF?
Hit the print button, then in the print dialog choose Save as PDF instead of a printer. On a Mac it is in the PDF dropdown at the bottom left. On Windows and Chrome, pick Save as PDF in the Destination list. On iPhone, share the page and choose Print, then pinch out on the preview to turn it into a PDF.
Why is my scorecard printing cut off?
Set the orientation to landscape. An 18-hole card is 21 columns wide and will not fit on portrait paper at a readable size. The page already requests landscape, but some printers override it, so check the dialog.
Can I print a blank card and fill in par at the course?
Yes. Clear the par boxes before printing and you get an empty card to write on. The par row is pre-filled with a standard par 72 simply because that saves most people the typing.
How do I mark birdies and bogeys on a paper scorecard?
The convention is a circle around the number for a birdie, a double circle for an eagle, a square for a bogey and a double square for a double bogey. Par is left plain. It makes a card readable at a glance without adding anything up.
Is there a version I do not have to print?
That is what the app is for. It keeps the card, adds up the totals, applies handicap strokes and saves the round to your history. But paper does not run out of battery on the back nine, which is why this page exists.
