How These Tools Are Built
The handicap tools use the formulas in the Rules of Handicapping published by the USGA and the R&A: Course Handicap from slope and course rating, Score Differentials with net double bogey and PCC, and the Appendix C allowances for team formats. Each one was checked against the worked examples those bodies and England Golf publish, and each page shows the formula next to the answer so you can check it yourself.
The equipment tools are different. There is no rule that defines a regular shaft or a midsize grip, so they use the static fitting charts club and grip makers print, plus TrackMan tour averages for distance. They get you to the right starting point. A launch monitor and a good fitter get you the rest of the way.
